While some fans will comb the deepest reaches of the internet to find every spoiler they can regarding their favorite TV shows, others will go to great lengths to avoid being spoiled at all costs. That’s the case of former Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie, who literally threw fiancé Kit Harington out of the house to avoid them.
Leslie, who recently got engaged to her fellow co-star, played the role of the wildling Ygritte — and Jon “You Know Nothing” Snow’s lover — over the course of three seasons (from 2012-2014) on the HBO fantasy series.
During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Downton Abbey alum spoke about her role on The Good Wife’s spinoff series, The Good Fight, before discussion veered into Game of Thrones territory. Most specifically, whether or not she tried to get information about the show’s eight and final season from him.
“No! I mean talk about being an avid fan. I obviously am of The Good Wife, but with Game of Thrones, I’m like the rest of the world. I’m waiting for the new and final season,” Leslie told Meyers. “I remember kind of like over in the summer — summer's just gone, obviously — the new episodes for the final season were coming through onto his iPad. And I mean, I can read his facial expressions. I didn’t want to know anything that’s going on like, within his eyes or anything like that. So, I sent him packing. I kind of like, boot him out so he can go to the coffee shop because I’ll know. I’ll be able to gauge. Like if he stiffens, then I know someone’s dead.”
It’s probably a good thing Leslie sent Harington packing every time he had to read a script for Game of Thrones since a recent report hinted that the final season will see several characters fall to their death by series end in 2019.
