New pics have surfaced of actor Michael Shannon wearing his General Zod black Kryptonian outfit and rocking some new facial hair for director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.
Taken by photographer Ed Larom, the pictures show Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) in what is believed to be his Kryptonian costume—which is strange, because it was previously confirmed that the General Zod costume would be CGIed à la Green Lantern.
So we've to assume they're going for both.
We've already seen Shannon in his mo-cap outfit before, but this is the first time we see the actor in his General Zod suit. If you look closely, you'll see it's quite similar to Henry Cavill's Supes costume.
Shannon is also sporting a brand-new goatee to round up the total look. Big bad meanies always have to sport a nice goatee, don't you think? It makes them somehow ... meaner.
What do you think of Shannon's look? It sure is less flashy than Terence Stamp's General Zod from 1980's Superman II, but at least they both nailed that evil bearded look.
Zack Snyder's Man of Steel will fly into theaters on June 14, 2013.
