The jury is still out among fans and critics over whether Kong: Skull Island was a classic entry in the monster movie canon, but let’s be honest, the visual effects were hugely impressive.
Now Industrial Light & Magic has revealed the sizzle reel for the movie -- which was directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts -- and it’s all kinds of fascinating. Stopping the bombastic action scenes in their tracks, the clip gives us an inside view from the CGI-control room that will most likely inspire you to give the film another go.
ILM says alongside the post: "We are pleased to share a sample of the visual effects work created in our San Francisco and Vancouver Studios for Jordan Vogt-Roberts' 'Kong: Skull Island,' including digital environment work, water simulations, a couple epic battle sequences and the most complex hair simulation that we have ever created.”
