The first full trailer for Hulu’s new sci-fi comedy Future Man has arrived, and it looks like producer Seth Rogen just threw a bunch of stuff you love into a blender. In the best way possible.

The series stars Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) as a gamer who is recruited by time travelers to try and save the future, and at least judging by the footage here, it borrows (and calls out) elements from fan favorites such as The Last Starfighter, Back to the Future, and This Is the End. The mission: Travel through time to stop the man who will eventually destroy the future, all because he’s trying to make a cure for herpes that eventually leads to the downfall of humanity itself.

Though this series is obviously wearing its influences on its sleeves in the scenes here, producers Rogen and Evan Goldberg look to bring a wit and humor to the material that should make it an action-packed homage. Along with Hutcherson, the series also stars Eliza Coupe, Derek Wilson, and Haley Joel Osment.

It’s great to see these types of projects get a shot at life thanks to services like Hulu. It’s obviously not the kind of thing you’d see on a network’s prime-time schedule, but it’s the perfect canvas for folks like Rogen and Goldberg to tell a wacky, self-contained sci-fi story that looks like a whole lot of fun. The new trailer will make its official debut today at New York Comic Con.

The full season of Future Man drops November 14 on Hulu.
