Starz has dropped a new promo for their upcoming third season of Ash vs. Evil Dead. With the show being rated G for gory, the network has decided to make this spot a bit more... ahem... kid friendly by “coloring-out” the blood and gore, and replacing it with some colorful drawings. Also below are the latest three “Who’s your Daddy” segments where, once again, Papa Ash (Bruce Campbell) has more parental guidance to share on the art of raising kids and teens.
Let’s start with the 30-second promo. This one may be one of the weirdest promos ever released for the horror-comedy series so far, but in a disturbingly groovy way (as you’ll see below). For example, we have a shot of Pablo (Ray Santiago) covered in blood and laughing like a maniac. But the blood is covered over by a colored yellow shirt and our brujo-in-training is putting one half of a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich on each side of his head. When the hero of Elk Grove’s long-lost teenage daughter Brandy (Arielle Carver-O’Neill) stabs someone in the face, the knife is replaced by a baby bottle and the blood that splatters all over her face is replaced with milk.
Following his hilariously bad advice on how to deal with arguments, partying, and sex, new father Ash is back at it again. He’s now offering-up some wise-words-of-wisdom on several more topics including teen pregnancy (you just have to do it standing up. This is known), driving (kids should learn how to drive as soon as possible so they can pick you up when you’re drunk), and college (which is just for losers).
Ash vs. Evil Dead returns for a 10-episode third season on Feb. 25.
