Where do trained killers learn their mad murdering skills? They go to King's Dominion, of course! A new trailer has been released for SYFY's upcoming adaptation of Rick Remender and Wesley Craig's Deadly Class comic book series.

Produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Infinity War), the series is set in the late 1980s and follows Marcus (Benjamin Wadsworth), a street urchin who earns a spot in a prestigious school for assassins.

Most of his fellow students are the children of mobsters and yakuza thugs who will one day enter their lethal family businesses. As the "fresh meat," Marcus will have to earn the respect of his peers, while exploring all the usual pangs and tribulations of adolescence.

Watch the new nostalgic trailer (appropriately set to New Order's "Age of Consent") below:

Deadly Class co-stars Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Lana Condor (X-Men: Apocalypse), María Gabriela de Faría (Vikki RPM), Liam James (R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour), Michel Duval (Queen of the South), and Luke Tennie (Shock and Awe).

Rick Remender, Miles Orion Feldsott (making his producing debut), and Mick Betancourt (The Purge TV series) serve as the program's showrunners. Remender, in particular, had a lot of creative control, writing much of the first season and picking all of the period-specific music.

"So if it fails for fans, it fails because of me. It's not something that they can blame on those rotten TV folks... I ruined it, if you don't like it. But I think it's pretty true to that [comic]. It's a wonderful adaptation of what Wes and I created," he told SYFY WIRE at San Diego Comic-Con.

We caught the first 13 minutes of the first episode at the same con and can confirm that it's a fascinating mix of Stranger Things, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Wanted.

Season 1 of Deadly Class premieres on SYFY Wednesday, January 16.
