The Los Angeles Star Wars press event this past weekend offered a variety of opportunities for journalists, including SYFY WIRE's own Tara Bennett, to meet, talk with, and ask questions of most of the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
That included a meet and greet with BB-8 and his new First Order counterpart, BB-9E where journalists lined up to have a moment to talk with the droids. But it's also a fact that BB-8 is a very beloved droid, so his adoring fans included Laura Dern who was likely much warmer and enthused to talk to him than her film persona of Amilyn Holdo.
It's a pretty adorable video and it's not often you get to see BB-8 look shy.
Dern, along with actresses Daisy Ridley, Kelly Marie Tran, and Gwendoline Christie also talked about the profound impact Carrie Fisher had on the film and on their lives. It's clear that everyone has been deeply moved by the entire experience on working on the film and working with one another -- including the droids.
Director Rian Johnson may have an entirely new Star Wars trilogy to create in the near future, but it's clear that everyone's very much in the here and now and bursting with excitement for fans to see the film.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens December 15th.
