Knowing your heritage and genealogy has become big business with advancements in medical screening technology, and everybody's on the bandwagon learning about exactly where they've come from.

Before the premiere of their latest superhero epic, Marvel wants you to understand the lineage of its ebony-clad crusader, Black Panther, and has just shared an official infographic by Khary Randolph, with colors by Erick Arciniega. This flourishing family tree breaks down the extended parentage of T'Challa through several generations of African royalty, with a few unexpected additions.

Born in the pages of Fantastic Four #52 in 1966 and created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Black Panther has become one of the most electrifying characters in the Marvel Universe, whose solo Hollywood flick debuts on Friday, February 16, starring Chadwick Boseman.

Shake the branches of Black Panther's family tree in Marvel's infographic and explanatory video below and tell us if there are any surprises! Like the Wakandan King's adopted white brother, Hunter!
