Learn Walking Dead's fatal new motto in tense S3 poster

A foreboding new poster has been released for season three of The Walking Dead, revealing what will likely be the guiding motto for the next phase of the zombie apocalypse.

Words to live by?

"Fight the dead. Fear the living."
Framed around Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) standing atop an overturned prison bus with his gun aimed, the new motto harkens to a few ideas that are expected to carry the hit AMC series into its new, super-sized 16-episode season this October.

To this point, the show has essentially been driven by the zombie apocalypse, with the disparate group of survivors reacting to the world around them.

But now we'll be getting into the meatier issues about humanity itself, and how corruption and cruelty will survive so long as man does. The group has spent so much time trying to survive in this world, and now they have to face the type of world they actually live in. And, with folks like the Governor (David Morrissey) coming into play now, the living could be a lot more dangerous than the dead.

Needless to say, these are storylines just begging to be told.

Check out the new poster below, and dust off your bow and arrow for the season premiere Oct. 14.
