Looks like the crew of the Waverider will need all the help they can get to defeat Mallus during the Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 finale -- including bringing back a former series regular.
Following a report over at Comicbook.com, The CW has confirmed to SYFY WIRE that Franz Drameh will indeed return as Jefferson “Jax” Jackson for the finale titled “The Good, The Bad and The Cuddly.” The last time we saw Jax was in the midseason finale, “Beebo the God of War,” when he left the team the week following the death of the other half of Firestorm, Prof. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), during the Crisis on Earth-X crossover event.
Further details on Drameh’s return are being kept under wraps, but he’ll not be the only character returning for the third season finale. Also confirmed for his third appearance in three seasons is Rip Hunter’s (Arthur Darvill) old pal Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech). And there are rumors that John Constantine (Matt Ryan) may also show up to help the team take down Mallus (voiced by John Noble) once and for all, but nothing has been confirmed yet (although it would make perfect sense for him to be there).
On the other hand, we can confirm that the demonologist and occult detective will make his second trip aboard the Waverider in the upcoming 15th episode titled “Necromancing the Stone,” which is slated to air on Mar. 19.
With Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) joining the Legends as a series regular, it’s unclear if Jax’s return will become a permanent one, since he no longer possesses the power of Firestorm. So it's going to be interesting to see what the powers-that-be have in mind for the character.
Legends of Tomorrow returns for a new episode tonight with “The Curse of the Earth Totem” on The CW.
