One of the most anticipated comic book shows of the year doesn't really feel like a comic book show ... and that's exactly what has us so excited.

FX has dropped a new featurette for its X-Men-related series Legion, which digs into the surreal type of series they're trying to create from the property. The creative team talks about keeping the audience on its toes and how they're blending reality with fiction in a way that will keep the audience wondering exactly what's real. They also touch on the ways they're trying to tackle familiar comic book elements by twisting them into something brand new.

The early buzz is extremely positive for Legion, and it looks to be a show unlike anything else on TV — comic book or otherwise. Legion stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, an omega-level mutant in a mental hospital because he can't recognize fact from fiction. The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Katie Aselton and Mackenzie Gray.

Legion premieres Wednesday, February 8 on FX. Check out the featurette below and let us know what you think.
