You know what's awesome? Not having to go to school when you're a kid. You know what's even better? Having Batman tell you don't have to go to school.
That LEGO movie. Who knew, right? It's a movie that stars CGI LEGO. That's a DVD in the dollar bin, isn't it? Nope! It's a $200 million money maker in two weeks.
So, why is it so successful? Well, it's got a solid script, it looks pretty for something that only cost $60 million to make. Plus, the actors are pretty great. And at the juicy center of all those positives is Will Arnett's take on Batman. How that comic genius with a gravel voice hasn't been the voice of Batman for years is anyone's guess. But what matters is that he's the voice of LEGO Batman now, and he is using that power for good.
Like, for example, going on Jimmy Kimmel Live and telling all the little boys and girls at home that it's a mother#$%ing snow day!
How this is a new idea, I'll never know. If Kevin Conroy had been doing this when I was a kid, there would probably be peace on Earth by now. If only ...
