LEGO has done it again.
The makers of everyone's favorite building blocks have taken their skills to mad new heights, unveiling a life-size LEGO version of Overwatch's iconic mech pilot D.Va for BlizzCon 2018.
Constructed by the LEGO Retail Model Production team, the giant sculpture stands nine feet tall and, along with her mech, weighs 1,256 pounds. The duo comprises an astonishing 145,276 pieces — not to mention 43,853 pink bricks for her pink exo-skeleton mech suit — and took 731 hands-on hours (along with the helpful guidance of a computer and a crane) to assemble, as you can see in this time-lapse video LEGO released online.
How's that for a day job?
The oversized Overwatch build is just the start of what LEGO has planned for its tie-in with Blizzard’s addictive online shooter. Under D.Va’s watchful eye, the company also has unveiled a whole series of themed building sets featuring minifigures of fan-fave characters and vehicles, including Tracer, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Genji, Shimada Henchman, Soldier: 76, McCree, Reinhardt, Pharah, Mercy, Reaper, and Big Winston.
Check out previews of the playsets in the gallery below, and then start clearing some floor space: The sets are already available as pre-orders ahead of their Jan. 1 debut on store shelves.
No doubt gamers will be in good hands as they head to BlizzCon at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, this weekend to check out the latest and greatest Blizzard Entertainment has to offer in the realm of first-person shoot-'em-ups and Esports.
Like LEGO's D.Va, it's gonna be epic.
