Look at the size of that thing!
LEGO has announced that it will be releasing its biggest set yet — and it’s drawing on the Star Wars universe for inspiration.
Fans will soon be able to purchase the mammoth Ultimate Collector Series LEGO Millennium Falcon, which has a whopping 7,500 pieces and stands over 8 inches high (and 33 long!) once fully built. The model's design includes just about everything, from the quad laser cannons to the landing legs and boarding ramp, and the individual hull plates are detachable, allowing access to the main hold, rear compartment, and gunnery station. It also comes with figures from both the original trilogy and The Force Awakens.
LEGO also released a trippy new video promoting its new Millennium Falcon behemoth, and the set will be available to LEGO VIP members on Sept. 14 and the general public on Oct. 1.
LEGO unleashed the news amid of a marketing flurry for Force Friday II on Sept. 1, showcasing the latest wave of Star Wars merchandise leading up to the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Dec. 15.
Details about The Last Jedi have been trickling out for months now as fans get glimpses of the film’s new characters and snazzy vehicles. Force Friday II looks to build on that momentum, with a slew of retailers — including the Disney Store, Target, Toys 'R Us, and more — indulging Star Wars fans with giveaways, treasure hunts, midnight madness events, and store-exclusive products (Target, for example, is the only store selling Hasbro's First Order Stormtrooper Executioner figure).
A full listing of what's available during Force Friday II is available on the official Star Wars website.
