Now that HBO's Girls has successfully sailed into the sunset, creator/star Lena Dunham has officially moved on to her next project, and it's a decidedly creepier affair.

Dunham is joining Season 7 of Ryan Murphy's FX horror anthology, American Horror Story. Murphy tweeted out the news himself earlier this evening:

Dunham's role has yet to be revealed, which isn't exactly shocking, considering we haven't even found out the title of this season yet, though Murphy assures us that will be dropping on Thursday. And all that we really know about the story is that it will start the day after the 2016 presidential election, and have something to do with the election throughout. Oh, and we know that John Carroll Lynch's Twisty the Clown will be involved somehow.

Joining Dunham are returning cast members Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, along with newbies Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, and Colton Haynes. AHS Season 7 is set to premiere just in time for Halloween.

What do you think of Dunham's casting?
