Let the Right One In was a 2004 Swedish horror novel that produced a 2008 Swedish movie, which in turn created a surprisingly good 2010 American remake, Let Me In. But luckily for us fans, the vampire party isn't over yet: Let the Right One In is currently in development by A&E as a television series.
For those of you who have been late to this particular party, Let the Right One In is about a bullied boy (Oskar in the Swedish version, Owen in the U.S.) and the relationship he has with his neighbor (Eli, Abby) ... who happens to be a vampire. It's a romance between a boy and blood-sucking fiend from hell and the sweetest movie with entrails you'll ever see.
According to Hollywood Reporter, "The network is teeming with Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis and actor-screenwriter Brandon Boyce to adapt the Swedish vampire story.
"The drama follows the boy and the female vampire, who lives in secrecy with her mysterious guardian. When a series of strange murders pops up in their small Vermont town, it attracts the attention of a federal marshal with a mysterious past of his own."
Teen Wolf has been a highly watchable MTV series for four (soon to be five) seasons. Similarities include 1) young supernatural protagonists 2) in a small town 3) that is beset by strange murders. Obviously, Let the Right One In is in good hands.
A&E has landed this series after winning a bidding war against Showtime.
