Last season, TNT turned its corny-fun run of TV movies The Librarian into a full-fledged series. Risky move, but it was a ton of fun — and here’s our first look at Season 2.

The show, dubbed The Librarians, is built around an ancient organization that protects the world from magical objects hidden all around us (think Warehouse 13 meets Indiana Jones), with a healthy dose of history thrown in. The TV movies were cheesy but entertaining, and the full-fledged series ran with the concept and has become a true guilty pleasure for genre fans. Seriously, it’s a ton of fun.

The first look at Season 2 offers up more family-friendly action and jokes (and explosions!), with the full cast of Rebecca Romijn (X-Men), Christian Kane (Angel), Lindy Booth (Dawn of the Dead) and John Kim (Neighbors), John Larroquette (Night Court) and original star Noah Wyle (Falling Skies) all back in action. Riding high on the accessible premise and likable cast, the first season was basic cable’s No. 2 new series of the year, reaching a total of 11.4 million viewers per year (across broadcast/streaming/etc.).

The second season of The Librarians is set to premiere Nov. 1 on TNT.
