What if you didn't really die? That's the question the new trailer for Netflix's Altered Carbon explores.

We got a small peek into the upcoming dystopian series, produced by Skydance Television for Netflix, starring James Purefoy and Joel Kinnaman, and based on a 2002 novel by Richard Morgan. But in the new trailer, we see what exactly happens when Laurens Bancroft (Purefoy) is murdered. As the wealthiest man on "several planets," Bancroft is able to "resleeve" and live on in different bodies -- which he does for hundreds of years.

After his death, he resleeves and seeks the help of Takeshi Kovacs (played by both Joel Kinnaman and Will Yun Lee) in order to investigate his death. The latest trailer is from Bancroft's point of view and shows a dark world in the future.
