Sure, this is kind of sad — but it’s also really, really funny.
Just about every guy on the planet would want to be Batman, so it’s not much of a surprise that George Clooney jumped at the chance when presented with the option in the 1997 flick Batman & Robin.
But it wasn’t until he actually saw the movie that he realized there was a small ... detail he had missed about the laughably redesigned Bat-suit. Yep, you know those nipples built into the design that fans still loathe?
He apparently didn’t realize they were there until he saw the movie himself. By then, obviously, it was a little late to ask for a costume change. Clooney revealed that little “worst nightmare” detail in a chat with MTV, while talking about the uncomfortable spacesuit he had to wear while shooting Gravity.
Here’s an excerpt:
"Pretty much wearing a Batsuit. They put nipples on the damn thing. I didn't even know it until the film came out ... Let's face it: the space suit was just uncomfortable for me, the Batsuit was uncomfortable for all of the world.”
Amen, dude. That thing did a lot of damage to the Bat franchise that only Christopher Nolan's seminal trilogy could wash away. At least Clooney (and the rest of us) can laugh about it now.
