Looks like The Flash (the movie, not the CW series) is about to zero in on the DC Comics movie’s female lead.

According to a report over at Variety, sources have told them that director Rick Famuyiwa’s top choice to play the female lead is Kiersey Clemons, who starred in the director’s critically acclaimed movie Dope.

Although Warner Bros. is currently keeping mum about the casting, seems that movie insiders have told Variety the actress is most likely (so, not confirmed yet) up for the role of intrepid journalist Iris West, Barry Allen’s (Ezra Miller) longtime love interest and friend, and that she may first make a cameo appearance in Justice League.

The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit also added that singer Rita Ora and Lucy Boynton (Sing Street) were also being considered for the role.

Seth Grahame-Smith was originally meant to helm the Warner Bros. movie before they parted ways over creative differences, but it seems that they’re keeping Smith’s most recent draft of the screenplay, which is based on a treatment by The LEGO Movie’s dynamic duo of Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

The Scarlet Speedster made his cinematic debut earlier this year in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in two very cool cameos, and is set to return for Justice League at the end of next year, before finally starring in his own solo film in 2018.

What do you think? Who would be the perfect Iris West?
