If there’s one thing I reaaaally didn't expect to hear about director David Ayer’s upcoming Suicide Squad movie, it's that it’ll feature a [gasp!] love triangle. Can you guys take a shot at who will be involved in that unholy thing?

Looks like our girl Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) will not only be romanced by Jared Leto’s psychopathic Joker, but also by Will Smith’s cybernetic assassin Deadshot! Um, you go girl? I'd also feign surprise at Deadshot specifically being the third party here, but I'm not a good liar so I WON'T. When he was asked how the supervillain movie was going to go about telling Harley’s story, David Ayer said:

"It's about her breaking free of The Joker and becoming this fully actualised, independent person. That really is a metaphor for everyone's journey here."

And from what star Will Smith added about the movie, it could even involve Harley and Deadshot getting it on together.

"Harley is the biggest troublemaker, but Deadshot's actually eyeballing her a little bit. There's a pretty ragged romantic triangle there."

As the good folks over at Comic Book Movie pointed out, this love triangle thingie ain't nothing new, because the chemistry between the two DC villains has been explored before in "The New 52" Universe.

The actor also explained how the hired gun will end up in Belle Reve in the first place, and what he says seems to support the set pics we’ve seen over the past year, as well as what we glimpsed in the trailer.

"As the movie opens, he has a really big career score," the actor reveals. "He's looking to turn over a new leaf with his daughter after the hit, but it goes wrong. It goes terribly, terribly wrong. And it lands him in Belle Reve for life."

What do you guys think about David Ayer introducing a Joker/Harley Quinn/Deadshot love triangle in Suicide Squad? The movie is set to explode in movie theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
