Fans who have been waiting for Luke Skywalker’s return to the galaxy from his self-imposed exile after Star Wars: The Force Awakens don’t have much longer to wait. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be hitting theaters on Dec. 15. But it doesn’t mean we have to wait in a vacuum.

In two separate articles, Entertainment Weekly has some tidbits that will fuel our imaginations for the next four weeks.

Warning: These may be considered spoilers by those who really do want to wait in a vacuum.

But since we know what nature abhors, here’s some facts and rumors for you:

Poe Cameron will clash with Resistance commander Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo

Laura Dern plays Amilyn Holdo, a vice admiral in General Organa’s force against the First Order. According to EW, Holdo “doesn’t quite have Leia’s everyman (or everywoman) touch with the troops.” This brings her into conflict with Poe Dameron, who doesn’t realize that she’s as loyal to General Organa as he is.

Leia needs all the help she can get. Her troops were decimated in the assault on Starkiller Base.

Finn ultimately decides to stay and fight

Finn was battered after losing a fight against Kylo Ren, a fight that Rey ultimately won. But if you recall, Finn was trying to place the First Order and the galaxy’s political woes in his rear-view mirror. When he revives in The Last Jedi, he’ll still want out.

Finn soon teams up with Resistance mechanic Rose Tico, played by Kelly Marie Tran, on a mission to Canto Blight, a casino city. Rose’s “starstruck” attitude convinces Finn to stick around. According to EW, these characters “keep each other on track.”

Will Luke turn to the Dark Side?

Luke is a Jedi, a champion for justice in the galaxy. He would never turn to the Dark Side. Remember, he said it himself near the end of Return of the Jedi: “I am a Jedi, like my father before me.” But director Rian Johnson himself hints it’s not outside the realm of possibility. Remember, Luke’s father wasn’t just a Jedi. He was also a Sith Lord, as we saw in Revenge of the Sith.

“Even though you never really believe [Luke is] going to go over to the dark side, the whole revelation of ‘I am your father’ has to do with Vader and this darkness that [Luke] thought he could just dismiss as ‘That’s the bad guy. I don’t have any of him in me,' " Johnson said. "Suddenly he realizes ‘No, I come from him. I have quite a bit of him inside me.’ ”

Or, will Rey turn to the Dark Side?

Rey, the young Force-user, traveled across the galaxy to find missing Jedi master Luke Skywalker and learn the ways of the Force. But when she arrives on Ahch-To, Luke does not want to teach her.

Daisy Ridley, who plays Ray, told EW, “The Resistance is really not that much to her… She wants to be part of something. I mean, everyone wants to be part of something.”

This may lead her toward someone who will teach her. Someone who knows the ways of the Force. Someone like, say, Kylo Ren?

Note that there are separate rumors of Luke and Rey turning to the Dark Side. Does this mean we’ll see Luke and Rey as a Rule-of-Two death-dealing duo? Doubtful. We believe that if one of them goes dark, the other has to stay on the path of good, to coax the first one back.

Delving into Kylo Ren's darkness

Kylo was born Ben Solo, the son of Leia Organa and Han Solo. But with parents who cared more about the Resistance than with him, plus an strong affinity with the Force, it’s no surprise that he was vulnerable to outside, and dark, influences like Lord Snoke. Ultimately, he kills his father as a way to seal himself to the dark side.

According to Director Rian Johnson, “I don’t think it’s very interesting if the whole story is just ‘Will Kylo get his comeuppance?’ He’s a more complicated character than that and I think he deserves a more complicated story than that.”

Still unclear: Will Luke and Leia reunite?

Leia has been trying to find Luke for years after her son turned into Kylo Ren following Luke’s tutelage. There’s no word whether or not they reunite on screen. But if not, it would be a sorry day for fans: Carrie Fisher died after filming The Last Jedi, and this would be Star Wars’ fans only opportunity to see them together, at long last.
