Sony Pictures has unleashed the final domestic trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars. And it’s pretty epic.
The movie, helmed by Anna Foerster (Outlander) from a script by Cory Goodman (Priest, The Last Witch Hunter), is being produced by Underworld co-creator Len Wiseman. Blood Wars sees the return of everyone’s favorite Vampire death dealer, Selene (played by Kate Beckinsale). Also back in the new movie is Theo James (The Divergent Series) as her ally David and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) as his dad, the Vampire elder Thomas.
New cast additions include Tobias Menzies (Outlander’s sadistic villain Black Jack Randall) as the new Lycan leader, Marius, and Lara Pulver (Sherlock) as an ambitious Vampire named Semira. Merlin and iZombie's Bradley James (who got to play the son of Satan in the short-lived Damien) even has a role as a Vampire in the film, and you can see him in the trailer below.
Once again, Selene is in the middle of a Vampire/Lycan war and it’s (again) up to her to put an end to the bloodshed. The new action-packed trailer does a good job of establishing the plot as well as introducing some intriguing new supernatural elements for the fifth Underworld movie. Oh, and it also features a lot of exciting Lycan/Vampire action. So it's a WIN in my book.
The next installment in the blockbuster franchise follows Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Underworld: Blood Wars will open on Jan. 6, 2017.
