Jack "The King" Kirby is perhaps the most imitated comic book artist and creator of all time as his influence and style have trickled down into generations of illustrators, painters, pencilers, writers and inkers working in the medium.
Known for his macho, two-fisted linework and dynamic action-oriented panels for Marvel and DC, Kirby was also the creator or co-creator of such household superhero characters and teams as The Fantastic Four, X-Men, Avengers, Iron-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Kamandi, The Eternals, the Inhumans, Thor, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Groot, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Galactus, Silver Surfer and many more.
Machinima's new Greater Creators web series pays respect to the cigar-chomping genius from New York City who left such an indelible mark on the legacy of comic book heroes and villains in their debut documentary celebrating Kirby's masterful body of work.
Here's a look at premiere episode that launched on Jan. 31 featuring the incredible accomplishments of one of America's most creative icons and innovators. Have a look and tell us which Kirby creation strikes you as his best!
