Mads Mikkelsen’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role has been shrouded in mystery ever since it was announced the Doctor Strange actor had come on board the movie set in a galaxy far, far away. Until now.

So, is he playing a big bad villain or one of the good guys? As you'll see below, it's not as clean-cut as that. But it could be a juicy one.

In a recent interview with SkyOne, Mikkelsen let a few things slip regarding his character in director Gareth Edward’s movie. Oooops!! Here’s what he told the interviewer.

“Rogue One, let's do that one, and I can say absolutely nothing about it. It's the very first one, it's before anything you've ever seen in the Star Wars universe...I wasn't really sure whether I was wearing a Storm Trooper outfit or anything like that at that point. I read the script and it was very beautiful and Felicity [Jones] is playing this lovely, strong woman. I play her...father. That's too much, I'm sorry.”

So, Mikkelsen is playing Jyn Erso's dad. OK, cool. But since the trailer says Jones’ badass rebellious character (I’m liking her already) has been on her own since she was 15, could Mikkelsen’s role be more of a flashback kinda thing, or will it be a blast-from-the-past thingy? Of course, that'll remain to be seen.

What do you think of this reveal?

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will open on this side of the galaxy on Dec. 16, 2016.
