There’s never been a better time to enter the fantastical world of dragons, elves, and merfolk. We’re talking about Magic: The Gathering, of course, which is celebrating an anniversary of 25 years in the (trading-card) game this year.

To observe this landmark, the clever minds at Magic are making it easier than ever for first-time players to join in on the fun with a new product, and SYFY Wire has the exclusive first look at the cards.

The Dominaria Planeswalker decks are pre-constructed themed card decks, designed as a starter product for beginning Magic players, and help with basic strategy, the game's settings, and characters, and include a premium Planeswalker card.

The trading-card game — created by Richard Garfield and first published in 1993 — is the world’s leading strategy game enjoyed by millions, and Dominaria is the most highly anticipated Magic card set by players of 2018, as it heralds a return to the very first world that Magic ever visited.

The makers behind the game recently created the digital version, Magic: The Gathering Arena, by Wizards of the Coast's in-house Digital Games Studio, and fans can sign up to play online here.

Meanwhile, take an exclusive look at the unique cards – which include a new illustration of Teferi, one of the oldest characters in Magic – in the gallery below.
