Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale ends with a question.

"Are there any questions?"

What follows has always been left up to the reader until now. 30 years after the original publication, a new chapter begins with that very question. Released as an Audible Original production written by Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale: Special Edition is performed by Emmy Award-winning actress Claire Danes among others and features narration by Atwood herself.

Atwood's story is as significant today as it was 30 years ago and this Audible recording has special significance both for Atwood and Offred (the book's main character) as both chose to record their stories verbally before they were disseminated.

Audible and Entertainment Weekly have released this excerpt from the book which includes a question to Professor Piexoto. His answer evokes the same chills you may remember from the original.

The Handmaid's Tale: Special Edition audiobook is available for pre-order now with a release date of April 4th. Hulu's The Handmaids Tale premieres April 14th, so you'll have time to get caught up on the book before you watch the series if you like.
