Margot Robbie revealed that she had tested quite a few Harley Quinn costumes for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad movie before the production eventually settled on what I personally like to call the "bubble-gum look."

In a new interview with Hello Giggles, the Australian actress, soon to star alongside Alexander Skarsgard in The Legend of Tarzan on July 1, explained that they tried every costume under the sun for the popular Batman villain and Joker sidekick, including the classic court jester outfit in red black and white she wore when first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series.

Here’s what Robbie -- who's excited for everyone to see the movie -- said:

“Oh, we tried on every variation of the costume. I cannot emphasis enough how many outfits, and how many variations of the Harley Quinn costume we tried. We tried the court jester costume, we tried the corset and skirt, we tried leather pants, we tried literally every type of costume possible for her. I really love where we ended up. And who knows, maybe in the sequels we’ll go with the court jester one. I think there’s a world of possibilities.”

There you have it. Are you happy about the overall look Margot Robbie will sport in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, or would you rather they'd gone with the court jester look?

With a team lineup that includes Deadshot (Will Smith), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Slipknot (Adam Beach), the Joker (Jared Leto) and Government Agent Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Suicide Squad opens in movie theaters Aug. 5.
