Margot Robbie is the latest A-list star to take her turn playing a glamorous femme fatale. In the first trailer for Terminal, inviting audiences into a neon-soaked world of black comedy, fabulous costumes, and Alice in Wonderland references.
The movie is the feature debut of director Vaughn Stein, and boasts a cast that includes Simon Pegg as a suicidal school teacher, Mike Myers as a mysterious janitor, and Max Irons and Dexter Fletcher as a pair of assassins. But Robbie is the star draw here as Annie, a waitress with "an unquenchable bloodlust" (and a collection of excellent lipsticks). All devilish grins and knowing glances, the character seems like a worthy successor to her Suicide Squad role as Harley Quinn.
Femme fatale movies are enjoying a moment right now as we wait for Marvel Studios to deliver on its promise of a Scarlett Johanssen Black Widow picture; Terminal joins this year's underwhelming Jennifer Lawrence vehicle Red Sparrow and last year's excellent and frenetic female assassin movie The Villainess, from Korean director Jung Byung-gil.
Terminal arrives in theaters May 11, 2018. Check out the official summary and first poster below:
In the dark heart of a sprawling, anonymous city, TERMINAL follows the twisting tales of two assassins carrying out a sinister mission, a teacher battling a fatal illness, an enigmatic janitor and a curious waitress leading a dangerous double life. Murderous consequences unravel in the dead of night as their lives all intertwine at the hands of a mysterious criminal mastermind hell-bent on revenge.
