Mark Hamill, living his best life, is one of the internet’s most optimistic and joyful voices. That said, he’s not above poking a little fun here and there — especially at himself. Looking back over his various action-figure forms over the years, Hamill gave some Luke Skywalker toys the ultimate ad copy on Twitter.
In another life, he could’ve been one of the Mad Men, giving unappealing names to kids' toys. We guess he’d just work for the Garbage Pail Kids company.
That said, if you haven’t seen The Last Jedi, there are some Star Wars spoilers inherent in one of these names. So be warned, in case you’ve somehow avoided the film’s plot over the past three months.
Take a look at these reviews:
As creative as crayon color names, Hamill’s "Generic Lemon-Haired Ken Doll Luke” and “Black-Haired Semi-Conscious Adult-Diaper Luke” aren’t the most attractive representations of the actor. The former’s droopy lightsaber and the latter’s leathery skin don’t make for an especially fun playtime experience, but neither is scarier than "Pumped-Up Roid-Rage With Balcony You Could Do Shakespeare From Luke."
Look at those pecs! Look at that gun!
That gun, which Hamill described in a second tweet as “that device a plumber uses to unclog your toilet," isn’t as existentially rattling as the sheer monetization opportunities inherent in "Black-Haired Semi-Conscious Adult-Diaper Luke”’s title, but it’s still pretty weird.
The Last Jedi's figurine is relatively flattering — which could mean that over the years leading up to the film, toymakers have figured out how to make something look like it does in the movie, or could mean that the hilarious knock-offs simply haven’t found their way online yet.
Either way, the expectation is now on Hamill for a full Antiques Roadshow of Skywalker memorabilia.
