Hit Girl is headed to Tinseltown.
Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar has revealed the first official cover and info for the upcoming mini-series, Hit Girl: The Golden Rage of Hollywood, written by filmmaker and writer Kevin Smith, with art by Pernille Orum.
Take a gander at the cover for the first issue below, drawn by Francesco Francavilla, a man who knows a thing or two about creating an impactful cover:
Smith teased plans of his involvement back in May, tweeting about having completed his script for the four-issue miniseries, officially confirming the title as well:
The story will follow the young hero, also known as Mindy McCready, and will explore the making of a Hit-Girl movie, according to Smith's recent Facebook post, which clears the air about Millar's previous statment that the series would be "about Hollywood predators."
Writing the new Hit-Girl arc was apparently a cathartic experience for Smith, after recovering from a massive heart attack earlier this year. “I wrote most of The Golden Rage of Hollywood Hit-Girl arc while recuperating after my health scare, so it was Mindy McCready and her bloody thirst for justice who helped me mend my broken heart,” he told Deadline.
Millar, meanwhile, admitted his own excitement over Smith getting to play in his world of characters: "I wrote him a fan letter over twenty years ago asking to see his Superman script and I was there when Clerks was screened in Scotland even before that, so you can imagine how delighted I am to be somewhere on the same credit page as this guy."
Hit Girl: The Golden Rage of Hollywood will debut in January 2019.
