We learned late last year that Mark Millar is bringing his Kick-Ass franchise back with a major character twist in the shape of Patience Lee, for a brand-new comic that’s hitting stores on Feb. 14.

Now Millar has put forward an exciting name as to who he would like to see play the titular character in the next screen outing: none other than Thor: Ragnarok's Tessa Thompson.

Millar tweeted Wednesday: “A lot of fans asking who I'd want as this new Kick-Ass. To be honest, one choice really jumps out and that's @TessaThompson_x.”

Patience Lee — a black military veteran and mother of young children — is one character Millar is particularly proud of, telling Entertainment Weekly last year, “I don’t think I’ve ever created a better [character],” and adding: “I love mom heroes. I did it in Empress and I’ve done it again here.” Lee is essentially taking over from regular teenager Dave Lizewski, who was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the first two movies.

Thompson has been making quite the impression on moviegoers and comic book fans lately. It was recently revealed that her version of the classic character Valkyrie, as seen in Ragnarok, will be the “mystery member” of Marvel Comics' Exiles team.

Thompson also recently revealed that she'd love to play the role of Alana should a screen adaptation of the epic Saga comics ever come to life.
