Mark Ruffalo has revealed a few interesting tidbits about the God of Thunder’s third solo outing, Thor: Ragnarok, including Banner's relationship with Thor.

As most of you guys may already know, the upcoming Marvel superhero film will reunite Banner with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as the two embark on some sort of road movie across the Nine Realms. Considering the Big Guy's, erm, smashing history with the Son of Odin, I'm sure it'll be fun to watch.

In a new interview with Empire, Ruffalo said, “There’s a little bit of Midnight Run, with [Charles] Grodin and [Robert] De Niro. I feel like that’s kind of where we’re heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner.”

Yep, road movie. But instead of being your typical road trip across, say, #Merica, they get to do this on a much, much grander scale. “It is a universal road movie – that’s where we’re heading,” Ruffalo said, adding, “It’s not where you'd think it will be, so it’s not your classic road movie, but it has that structure, I think.”

Ruffalo said the movie will be filmed in Sydney, Australia, and admitted that he’s yet to read the script, “but this is what we’re talking about” in early discussions. The actor also revealed it was his on-screen chemistry with Hemsworth that led to Marvel wanting to take a more comedic approach with the third Thor film.

“I love Chris [Hemsworth], and it’s not an accident that we’ve been put together because we have a good time together and we goof off. The fact that we’re moving towards the smart-comedic bent plays into our relationship.” And Banner will be heading to Asgard. “[Am I looking forward to that?] Hells, yeah.”

Directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows), Thor: Ragnarok will bring together the Asgardian God of Thunder and the Jade Giant on Nov. 3, 2017.
