On the heels of today's surprise announcement that Marvel stalwart Brian Michael Bendis has taken an exclusive contract with DC Comics, Marvel editor Joe Quesada has taken to Twitter to address the news, as well as to thank his friend for all of their years together:

He then goes on about his time working with Bendis, which was undoubtedly epic:

Though he's obviously sad to lose such a valued comrade, it doesn't seem like there are any sour grapes on Quesada's part:

As for Marvel fans who might be upset by the news? Quesada has something for them as well:

What are the big things? Who knows, but it will almost certainly be some fresh voices on stalwart characters, which can be both exciting and terrifying. In the end, he promises greatness all around:

Notice that he doesn't say "Marvel fan" here, but "comic book fan." Whether you're into DC, Marvel, or any other comic publisher, exciting things are ahead. Here's to unity in the fandom, and to Joe Quesada for being a class act.
