Marvel Comics just can’t stop making fun of Batman v Superman

Most folks can agree that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice wasn’t the best movie — and that the big “Martha” twist was pretty cheesy (despite the best of intentions for what it symbolized).

With Wonder Woman lighting up the box office, most fans have happily moved on to cheer Diana as she leads the DCEU to glory. But Marvel Comics still wants to get in one last jab or two.

The recent Deadpool vs. The Punisher #5 features an exchange where Deadpool does a whole bit on the big-screen “Martha” exchange between Batman and Superman. Look, we get it. That was groan-worthy, and it was widely derided when the movie was released (and Marvel already poked fun in Spider-Man/Deadpool last year). And if anyone is going to make fun of it, it’s Deadpool. Which, hey, we love a little professional rivalry, but let’s look for some fresher material, maybe? This horse has been pretty well kicked.
