Marvel has dabbled in anime before, and now they're looking to bring Earth's Mightiest Heroes back to the format.

Anime News Network reports a new series titled Future Avengers is set to launch this summer, airing on the broadcast satellite network Dlife. The series is about a young boy who develops superpowers due to gene manipulation and joins up with the Avengers as a trainee. He's joined by a few other super-kids who will serve as "future" Avengers. As for the Marvel line-up, the hero roster includes Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Wasp and Thor.

Marvel previously put out anime tales based on Blade, Wolverine, Iron Man and the X-Men, so the idea is nothing new. But this is one of the first times we've seen all the A-listers assemble in this format.

Along with the anime series, Marvel is also teaming with Teruaki Mizuno to draw a manga version of the story that will run in Shogakukan's Bessatsu Coro Coro Comics Special magazine.
