Marvel has released the first official poster for Ant-Man, and it's a small wonder.
Aside from the fact that the company is making a lot of good movies, Marvel Studios has been hitting it out of the park with its recent marketing. Remember the "You're welcome" poster for Guardians of the Galaxy? Stuff like that goes a long way toward setting a tone for a movie and selling it, and the latest great example of that is the first official poster for Ant-Man:
Simple, brilliant, and guaranteed to make people stop and laugh. Like Guardians, ths movie could be a hard sell for Marvel. But by all accounts, Ant-Man is shaping up to be a fun, fast-moving heist movie -- that happens to star a guy who can shrink and control ants -- and this poster speaks volumes about the approach that the studio and filmmakers are taking.
Meanwhile, EW has published an image of the cover of its next issue, and it's got the first photo of Paul Rudd in his Ant-Man gear:
The first full trailer for the movie premieres tonight during ABC's Agent Carter. Marvel posted a quick teaser for it, also in miniature, before blowing it up a day or two later (watch it below), but tonight we'll get a much better look at the first footage from the film.
Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed and starring Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Michael Pena and Bobby Cannavale, opens on July 17.
