Warner Bros. and DC's upcoming slate is so huge, it's inadvertently affecting other films. In the latest report on David Ayer's Suicide Squad, there was casting news regarding DreamWorks' Ghost in the Shell. OriginallyWolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie was in the running for the lead role, but not any more.

Deadline reports that Robbie has now shifted her focus to the Suicide SquadWhy? Because DreamWorks has its eye on a new lady -- Scarlett Johansson. Apparently, the studio has offered the actress a cool $10 million to headline Ghost in the Shell

Johansson's action stock has risen significantly after playing both Black Widow in the Marvel films and the title character in Luc Besson's Lucy. The latter was a surprise hit that grossed $412 million worldwide. It looks like filmmakers are getting more confident in Johansson's action prowess.

Ghost in the Shell will be directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) from a script by William Wheeler. The film is an adaptation of a popular manga that's described as a complex futuristic thriller. Ghost in the Shell was a huge success, spawning anime films, TV series and videogames.

What do you think of Johansson tackling Ghost in the Shell?
