We're less than six months away from the theatrical release of Captain Marvel, which means it's the perfect time for Andy Park, head of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, to release some official and high-res concept art from the film.
And that's exactly what he did.
"I absolutely LOVED creating this design of @brielarson as #CaptainMarvel!" wrote Park on Twitter. "Based on the awesome comic book looks by @McKelvie & @kristaferanka It was a pleasure taking those & translating it for the big screen & for the story we are telling on this film."
The design is considerably different from what we've seen from set photos and in the first trailer. Before Carol gets her classic red, yellow, and blue look, she'll be wearing the green uniform of the Kree's Space Force.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel takes place in the 1990s and follows Air Force pilot Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), who is also a superhero infused with Kree DNA. The movie will feature a number of familiar faces, including Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), and Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou).
Captain Marvel takes off in theaters on March 8, 2019.
