Indiana Jones has a way of inspiring an obsessiveness in his fans. You remember Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation, don't you? Three 12-year-old friends who made a shot-for-shot remake of Raiders that took them seven years to finish? Animator Jeff Gurwood is happy to be part of that club.

While Indyanimation wasn't crafted with the same stop-motion fluidity that, say, the Robot Chicken crew brings to bear, Gurwood—who also built all the sets—lavished as much detail as amateurly possible on this short, which gets so many things right, even if making those old action figures walk proved difficult. But every beat you remember is there.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that Gurwood used the original Raiders soundtrack, complete with sound effects and Harrison Ford and Alfred Molina's dialogue; it helps fill in some of the blanks that the visuals couldn't.

Still, there's no stopping a fan with a boatload of ingenuity and six months to kill.
