With hours to spare, Hasbro’s crowdfunding campaign HASLAB met its fundraising goal for an ambitious Star Wars project. The sail barge we’ve been reporting on since it made its debut at Toy Fair will be coming to lucky fans and play set geeks with Jabba and Yak Face in tow. The play set is now heading to production, according to an announcement from Hasbro.

Jabba’s Sail Barge hit, as of this posting, 7,703 backers — well over the 5,000 needed to kick the operation into production. Now the 4-foot-long vehicle, which includes 3.75-inch Jabba the Hutt and Yak Face figures along with the sails and turrets one might expect from the pleasure barge, will be going to everyone that ordered it for the $499.99 asking price — and to everyone who can sneak in an order before backers stop being accepted at 11:59 p.m. ET on April 3.

Everyone who orders the landcraft made famous as Jabba the Hutt’s floating HQ in Return of the Jedi will have their special, making-of booklet — entitled Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna): Behind the Workbench — shipped out on April 4, while the barge itself won’t set sail into anyone’s mailboxes until Feb. 28 of next year.

We’ve covered some of the ship’s specifications before, and you can find them and even more photos here while you’re deciding whether or not to drop half a grand on an admittedly impressive piece of Star Wars memorabilia.
