Matt Ryan’s John Constantine will be joining the crew of the Waverider for a supernatural adventure when Legends of Tomorrow returns in a few short weeks. The occult detective and demonologist popped up in the final minutes of the midseason finale to ask for Sara’s (Caity Lotz) help in a case of demonic possession involving a little girl, essentially kicking off his two-episode arc. To whet our appetite for the Hellblazer’s return, The CW has unveiled pics for the upcoming episode, “Daddy Darhkest.”

Constantine’s appearance on Legends of Tomorrow is not the first time the character has shown up in the Arrowverse-at-large. Ryan returned to the role he originated on NBC’s short-lived Constantine TV series (which aired from 2014-2015) in a Season 4 episode of Arrow titled “Haunted.” Ryan will also reprise the role in animated form on the CW Seed’s Constantine, slated to air sometime in early 2018.

Back in October of last year, executive producer Phil Klemmer revealed that Constantine’s appearance in Episode 10 would involve a “revisiting of Arrow Season 4 and the events following that season’s finale episode; a confrontation with this season’s Big Bad on Legends — the name we’ve only heard whispered until now, Mallus; some hot sex — something that has been in short supply on the Waverider thus far in Season 3; and Damien Darhk (Neil McDonough), because how can you do an episode about dark magic and not have Damien Darhk?” The setting was also revealed to be taking place in a mental institution.

In a recent interview with Nerdist, Dominic Purcell, who plays Mick Rory/Heat Wave, even teased a possible romance between the bisexual John Constantine and Wentworth Miller’s Citizen Cold (the Leonard Snart of Earth-X). "The scene is hysterical. We were all just on the floor laughing, so it’s all done in good fun,” said Purcell.

Legends of Tomorrow will be taking over Supergirl’s spot on Feb. 12 (and here's why), airing at 8 p.m. on The CW. Have a look at the new images below and let us know if you’re looking forward to Constantine’s return in “Daddy Darhkest.”
