Matt Smith reveals what Doctor Who has in common with Hamlet

Looks like Mark Ruffalo was wrong when he said that the Hulk was "my generation's Hamlet"—because Matt Smith says that it's really the role of Doctor Who that's like Shakespeare's tragic Prince of Denmark. And when it comes to a disagreement between the Hulk and Doctor Who, we'll always side with the Time Lord.

Vulture brought together Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill at a N.Y. skateboard shop to see whether a few rounds of Doctor Who pinball would loosen their tongues about the new season. While it obviously put the stars in a good mood, nothing spoilerific was shared, so you can watch the clip below without having to worry that the season premiere will be spoiled.

Some of the things we learned were that Gillan has been proposed to by a female Amy Pond fan, Darvill thinks there should be an all-dancing (rather than a musical) episode, and Smith believes Who is like Hamlet. Why? Because:

"It's a bit like playing Hamlet, but on the television, 'cause every actor has their own spin, and you're just trying to spin it in the most interesting way."
