We aren't ones to rain on anyone's fandom parade.

May the Fourth be with you.

If you've already said it to someone today, we're not here to shame you for it, but hey, maybe once is enough. We took a spin across the Internet to look for where the phrase came from (besides an obvious pun fans shared for years), and the first official May 4th celebration turns out not to have taken place until 2011.

Disneyland and Walt Disney World have been celebrating the day with various events ever since they purchased the properties in 2012. So. Say it one more time and get it out of your system. Then head over to these articles to read on.

However, if you still need more May the Fourth stuff, go down a rabbit hole that took up the better part of our morning and read all about some of the holidays (both canon and rumored) in the Star Wars Universe. Republic Day, Boonta Eve, Harvest Day, they're all there.

Tomorrow: Cinco de Contact.
