The extended pilot for Marvel’s Inhumans miniseries hits IMAX on September 1, and a new trailer shows off a bit more of the effects work — including Medusa’s hair in action.

The series finds the Inhuman Royal Family on the run from Attilan as a coup forces them to come to Earth. We already knew the basics, but this latest footage shows off some of the effects work that was only half-baked the last few times we saw it. If nothing else, Serinda Swan’s Medusa looks a bit more intimidating here, as we get to see her hair in action. Anson Mount’s Black Bolt also gets to use a (tiny, tiny) bit of his booming voice, as well. Iwan Rheon’s Maximus, Eme Ikwuakor’s Gorgon, Ken Leung’s Karnak, and Isabelle Cornish’s Crystal also show up.

The project has gone through a few different incarnations during development, originally announced as a film, then retooled into a TV miniseries. As Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans are well aware, the Inhumans have been a key part of that show’s mythos for a few years now, so it’ll be interesting to see how this series reconciles all the moving pieces.

Inhumans premieres September 29 on ABC.
