What does the CW do with all the excess DC superheroes they've given us in the last three seasons, since Arrow and The Flash have taken to the small screen? You give them their own show, obvi, and call it Legends of Tomorrow. Here’s a look at what we’ll be getting on Jan. 21, 2016.
The CW has upped the ante on this particular superhero show by adding an element of time travel; Arthur Darvill plays (another) time-traveling superhero Rip Hunter, an East Londoner who brings White Canary, the Atom, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Firestorm, Heat Wave and Captain Cold together. But although it's set in 2016, Rip comes straight outta 2166, where our heroes are already legends. But no messing with the timeline, folks, or horrible things can -- and will -- happen.
In the video below, we see our heroes mixing and mingling with 1975. It seems they're on a mission to keep the villain Vandal Savage from conquering the planet. (With a name like that, you can be sure he’s villainous; plus, it seems he has possession of the Maltese Falcon.)
As it happens, Rip has “seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall.” Will that mean we’ll be seeing a crossover with the DC big league heroes? Not likely. It’s pretty crowded in here already. And as it happens, already waiting for another DC superhero who has already traveled in time, Booster Gold. It seems we may be waiting for him for a while.
Check it out.
