Harry Potter fans will have another chance to return to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (with a bit of a twist) this coming November when Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters. The movie stars Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, the magical movie’s hero. Let's go meet him.
Warner Bros. has released a new two-minute featurette in which Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling talks about her newest hero: “He's been traveling the world studying magical creatures. He calls himself a magizoologist.”
The video also offers a cool sneak peek at some of those fantastical new magical creatures and intriguing plot details, and also has the added bonus of featuring some new scenes -- all of which is accompanied by legendary composer John Williams' wonderful score. Have a look:
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
Helmed by Harry Potter director Davis Yates from a script penned by J.K. Rowling herself, the movie also stars Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant) as Porpentina Goldstein, Dan Fogler (Secrets and Lies) as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol (Dig) as Porpentina’s sister, Queenie, Ezra Miller (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) as Credence, Samantha Morton (Minority Report, John Carter) as Mary Lou, Jon Voight (Ray Donovan) as Henry Shaw Sr., Ron Perlman (Hellboy) as Gnarlack, Carmen Ejogo (Selma) as Seraphina Picquery, Jenn Murray (Brooklyn) as Chastity, Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty and Colin Farrell (True Detective) as Percival Graves.
