"It's not the woods whispering to you, it's the Watcher."

At today's 2017 New York Comic Con panel, director Melissa Joan Hart and her most trusted confidant, mother/co-exec producer Paula Hart, dished on their new Lifetime movie, The Watcher in the Woods. And judging from the preview they showed, it looks beautifully eerie.

The Watcher in the Woods is being "reimagined as a ghost story," says Melissa. The original thriller was released in 1980, and she was definitely a fan.

In the upcoming remake, which airs Oct. 21, actress Anjelica Huston (The Addams Family) stars as Mrs. Aylwood. So how did the Harts land such an iconic actress as their lead? They just asked, no biggie (you can hear the Harts further elaborate on Huston's casting in the interview below).

Melissa also mentioned that The Watcher in the Woods "is mainly a woman's driven movie," which was created by a dominantly female film crew. And she particularly enjoyed working with the film's child actors, since she's a veteran child-actor herself.

Of course, she's best known for playing the titular witch in the beloved series Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but she mentioned she has no part in The CW's Riverdale-verse reboot. In fact, she hasn't even seen Riverdale, but joked about asking fans to start a petition to get her a role.
