Men in Black International: Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson battle alien scum in first trailer

The first trailer for F. Gary Gray's Men in Black International has crash-landed on Earth, and it's full of the same light-hearted alien mayhem that made the Barry Sonnenfeld films so great and fun.

Following a younger generation of MiB agents played by Thor: Ragnarok alums Chris Hemsworth (Agent H) and Tessa Thompson (Agent M), the upcoming sequel/soft reboot/spinoff ditches the usual Manhattan setting for a Bond-esque globetrotting adventure revolving around a mole in the ultra-secret extraterrestrial-monitoring, Ray-Ban-wearing organization.

Joining H and M (the agents, not the retailer) is Liam Neeson, playing the head honcho of the MiB's United Kingdom base of operations. Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible - Fallout), and Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) are also starring in the movie. You can spot the small-statured alien that Nanjiani is voicing, Pawny, at 2:06.

Watch the trailer now:

The links to the first three movies are Danny Elfman's iconic score, the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel entrance to the New York HQ, the lewd Worm crew, and Emma Thompson's Agent O, who made her debut in Men in Black 3 as Zed's posthumous replacement.

A behind-the-scenes connection to the OG trilogy is Steven Spielberg, who returns as executive producer for a fourth time. Sonnenfeld is also credited as a producer, but given his contentious relationships with some of the other producers, his involvement was likely minimal to zilch.

Gray was the perfect choice for director, as his time spent on making The Fate of the Furious provided him with the experience needed for a project containing so many quirky characters and exotic locales.

Penned by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (the writing duo behind the first Iron Man), Men in Black International invades theaters on June 14, 2019.

Is it too much to hope for some quick cameos from Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones? If that's not feasible, at least give us an original rap song about Neuralyzers by Smith!
