Though it was hard to tell in the hot mess that was Fantastic Four, Michael B. Jordan is one heck of an actor — and now he’s trying his hand at a very different comic-book franchise.
A report from The Tracking Board notes Jordan is in negotiations to star in the action-comedy Blood Brothers, which is based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name. The comic is an interesting spin on the vampire genre, and follows two undead pals who are tasked with saving the world. So, basically a dark-ish buddy comedy framed around a genre tale.
Here’s the comic’s official synopsis:
After a century of friendship, smoking opium with Genghis Khan and having orgies in Michelangelo’s studio, two inseparable vampire buddies are on the verge of splitting up. Terrible timing, as an apocalypse-obsessed villain is plotting an end to humanity. Looks like Nick and Tree, immortal best buds getting by as bail bondsmen, are humanity’s last hope… Can they put their baggage aside long enough to save the world?
It’s nice to see Fantastic Four didn’t permanently scare Jordan away from comic-book movies as a whole, and this could be an interesting project. What's your take? Should the comic translate well to the big screen?
